Homeownership Centers

The Homeownership Center is a one-stop-shop providing information and resources for homebuyers and homeowners. NEDCO operates Homeownership Centers in Lane County and the Mid-Willamette Valley serving Salem, Woodburn, Marion County and neighboring communities).


Purchasing a Home

Individual Consultations - A Homeownership Counselor is available to help with developing an action plan, determining the best loan, reviewing good faith estimates, referral to lenders, and help with getting access to down payment assistance programs. Post-purchase and default counseling also available. Contact us if you are interested.

ABC's of Homebuying - This one day class is designed to help you understand the entire home buying process.

Threshold Homeownership Education & Counseling Program - This program offers in-depth education and individualized consultations. This is the most comprehensive program, and it has successfully prepared hundreds of families for homeownership.

The Home of Your Own Program (HOYOP) – This class is required for individuals and families participating in HOYOP, through St. Vincent de Paul.

Down Payment Assistance Programs - Did you know that there are multiple ways to get a bit of assistance towards the purchase of your first home? Check out all the options!

Information and Referral Services
Current Homeowners: Assistance with getting better mortgage terms, budgeting, dealing with payment problems, or answering your questions about financing is available. We also provide information about home repairs, weatherization, and selling your home.
Shopping for a home: We can help you access programs that offer down payment assistance and lower mortgage rates. In addition to our classes andconsultations, homeownership counselors can give you information that will help in your search for a realtor, insurance agent, and lender that is a good fit for your situation.


Financial Capability

LifeLine Financial Education Program
NEDCO is very proud to be the new home of the Lifeline Financial Education Program! Lifeline is a 4-session basic financial literacy class.


Default and Foreclosure Intervention

Workshops and Counseling
A Homeownership Counselor is available to review your situation and help with identifying options, developing a strategic plan, contacting lenders, and providing information about available resources.

Mortgage Payment Assistance
If you applied for the state's Mortgage Payment Assistance Program, please check back frequently for updates, monthly verification paperwork and to register for the educational component of this program.
